July 9, 2002 -- An Appeal for Help

Hi everyone:

I need some help with something. I'm this close to closing on a co-op in Manhattan. In fact, the seller has already cashed my deposit check, the contract has been signed, the bank has approved my loan, the papers have been filed with the City -- everything is in place.

However, the selling broker has been dragging her feet with getting the place ready for me to move in (upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom, etc. etc.). She's promising that everything will be ready by the end of the week.

BUT: The movers with my stuff from San Francisco have made amazingly speedy progress across the country, and they want to deliver ASAP -- like tomorrow! Otherwise I'll get charged about $200 a day for storage fees. Yikes!

Here's the favor: Please, PLEASE, direct some energy towards my being able to get into the place by Friday. I don't need to actually close the deal -- I just need the seller to allow me to move my stuff in. Otherwise, I'll have to have the movers deliver over a ton (literally!) of stuff to the place in Jersey City where I'm now staying. If that happens, I'll then have to endure the cost and hassle of moving it again to New York when the close eventually happens.

So, if you are a prayerful person, please pray. If you're a chanter, chant. If you're a wiccan . . . well, you get the idea.

Please help me. I'm pretty desperate at this point. This has been dragging on for months, and frankly, it's not having a very good effect on my psyche.

I'd really appreciate any energy you could channel towards this. Of course, this means that you have a place to stay in New York whenever you visit. :)

Thanks so much,

Michael
